Sculpture Maintenance
Jim Racchi does one of a kind steel sculptures. Each piece has its own "patina," some are left rusted. These are better suited to outdoors. Some of the smaller works are treated with a rest stabilizer and then painted. The paint slows down the oxidation process but does not prevent it completely. To prevent further rusting it should be painted once each year with a clear polyurethane or linseed oil.
